Yuma County - Dateland Tacna News January 18, 2007:
The Yuma County Board of Supervisors reports that the request for rezoning 19 Acres for the proposed Ethanol Plant has been approved. Rezoning Case 06-53 was approved on1-17-07 from RA-40 to Intensive Industrial to make way for the new Ethanol plant Located in Tacna, Arizona.
Agrinex Ethanol Company, owner and developer, will likely break ground this year. The new Ethanol Plant is expected to produce 55 million gallons per year and will be about the same size as the Ethanol Plant located in Maricopa. Another similarly sized Ethanol Plant is planned for Vicksburg.
Beyond Horizons has 314 acres available for sale. This parcel is located on the North side of County 6 by the Wellton Canal, just north of ethanol plant and adjacent to the proposed oil refinery.
The proposed Oil Refinery is in the permit process. According to Ann Eichberger of the Yuma County Long Range Planning Department, a resolution is expected in the next few months regarding the BLM land transfer from the Wellton Land Exchange to Arizona Clean Fuels.
Other area growth includes two major amendments that were made for a crushing plant on the S/W corner of Ave 44E by I-8 and the railroad and a large RV Park. There are other plans for Tacna plants and heavy industrial zoning to the south
Ms. Eichberger has indicated that a meeting is planned for next week with the citizen advisory group regarding a planned area update.
The City of Maricopa and nearby Stanfield are booming. In addition to all the new sub-divisions being built heading south along Hwy 347, Pinal County has just approved another 3 major sub-divisions to be constructed on Hwy 84. Less than one mile East from our Hwy 84 listings!
